Five Suspects Caught in Major Drug Bust in Tenerife’s Taco Neighborhood

The National Police has shut down an active drug dealing operation in the Taco neighbourhood of La Laguna, as part of an anti-drug initiative that resulted in the arrest of five family members.

The inquiry commenced following numerous community complaints that implicated a family group as the alleged perpetrators behind the distribution of narcotics from three separate locations, as noted by the National Police in a statement released on Tuesday.

After thorough investigations by the officers, a police report was compiled, which contained sufficient incriminating evidence to seek the necessary judicial approval.

This investigation disclosed, according to the Police, that the operation was run by a family group that functioned in a methodical manner, frequently altering the roles of its members to hinder police efforts.

The individuals under investigation were reportedly involved in the sale of cocaine, hashish, and crack, with their primary clientele being young people under the age of 25 and individuals struggling with addiction.

During the operation, five members of the family group were apprehended, with authorities seizing 58.25 grams of cocaine, 13 grams of crack, 773.51 grams of hashish, and 1,170 euros in cash, along with a knife and a police-style rubber baton, in addition to various items used for distribution and packaging.

The detainees, all with prior criminal records, have been presented to the judicial system on charges of drug trafficking.

As per the National Police, this operation has dismantled a significant drug dealing point that disrupted community harmony in the Taco area.
