The Cabildo of Tenerife intends to challenge the recent verdict at the Provincial Court, which has rendered one of the four proposed projects concerning the stands, aimed at constructing the future Tenerife Motor Circuit in Atogo (Granadilla de Abona), ineffective, citing that it is “not in accordance with the law.” Representatives from the Corporation opted not to comment on the judgement, which stems from an appeal lodged by the Tenerife Association of Friends of Nature (ATAN). This organisation contended that the Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) had lapsed, although they anticipate a lengthy process as the other three projects related to the infrastructure planned in the southern region of the Island remain under consideration.
