The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Mobility department led by Evelyn Alonso, reminded residents this Monday that the rental of the 646 electric scooters from the sole operator in the capital, Dott, remains free for local inhabitants following the departure of TIER Mobility.
This is due to the first company being absorbed by the latter, “so we will closely monitor how the demand for scooters changes in this new situation, a scenario that can always be accommodated by permitting the next company that placed third during the concession award,” stated the mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez.
The City Council provided clarification in a statement that Dott stipulates that to receive the discount, residents must complete their personal details on the official website. Once the form is submitted, if the user’s identification is in the database supplied by the City Council, the discount code will be sent to the email linked to their account within 48 to 72 hours.
After obtaining the code, users need to access the Dott company app, navigate to the Promotions section, and enter the code received via email.
The City Council has emphasised that the company has specified that the resident discount does not exempt users from facing penalties if they fail to park in designated areas or disregard traffic regulations.
