The enchantment of Christmas and the Three Wise Men witnessed an extraordinary occurrence at the Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. In an emotional gathering that surpassed the regular routine, two officers, a mother and her son, came together at one of the traffic management points set up for the Santa Cruz Three Wise Men Parade 2025.

As reported by @PoliciaLocalSC, at the junction of Unamuno streets and Madrid Avenue, Cristina, 59 years old and approaching retirement, collaborated closely with her son JJ, a 27-year-old probationary officer holding a law degree. Together, they undertook the responsibility of directing motorists, aiding access to the garages of nearby buildings, and attending to the citizens attending the event.

A Family Legacy in Policing

This family’s connection to law enforcement extends beyond this particular collaboration. Cristina, a long-serving officer in the Santa Cruz Local Police, has been a role model for JJ, who is following in the footsteps of a family tradition rooted in public service. Her husband, who has recently retired, was a member of the Local Police in Puerto de la Cruz, while one of their daughters serves in the General Corps of the Canarian Police. Furthermore, the family includes multiple uncles and cousins working as inspectors and officers.

An especially significant figure in JJ’s life was his aunt Laura, who held the position of inspector in the Santa Cruz Local Police until her passing. Her memory continues to motivate the young officer as he begins his career journey.

More Than Colleagues: A Mother-Son Partnership

The scene at the intersection illustrated not only the commitment of two generations but also the special bond shared between mother and son. “A mother is always a mother,” the official Local Police social media account noted, expressing gratitude for their devotion on such a noteworthy occasion.

This event, rich in symbolism and sentiment, underscores the influence of familial traditions on a dedication to public service. A Christmas moment that will be etched in the history of the Santa Cruz Local Police.
