Their Majesties the Three Wise Men from the East have now arrived in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar were welcomed this morning in the municipal Plenary Hall, where they inscribed their names in the Town Hall’s book of honour. The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, alongside several members of the Corporation, was responsible for greeting the main figures of this exciting day.

Following this official welcome, the Kings and their entourage of royal pages commenced a new stroll along Obispo Rey Redondo Street towards the Plaza de La Concepción, collecting letters from the numerous boys and girls who had already gathered in the historic centre of the city.

Subsequently, Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar ascended to the balconies of the La Concepción tower to acknowledge the gathered crowd and received the magical keys to the city from the mayor. These keys will allow them access to homes in Laguna tomorrow morning to deliver presents to those in attendance.

The festivities will continue this afternoon at 5:00 p.m., commencing with the traditional act of worship at the Royal Sanctuary of Christ. One hour later, the highlight of the Three Kings Day will take place with the Royal Parade making its way through the city streets. This year marks the return of an itinerary that has not been traversed since 1989.

Nine floats and over 500 participants will join the procession, including extras, royal pages, elves, children’s characters, superheroes, performance groups, choreographed ensembles, fanfares, musical bands, stilt walkers, jugglers, and other familiar figures associated with the festive season.

The celebration will feature an array of illuminated inflatables, marine displays, an Avatar-themed setting, and countless surprises, some of which have already delighted thousands of children at the Camp of Illusion since December 26.

Once again, a designated PMR area has been set up in Plaza del Adelantado for individuals with reduced mobility. A section of the Parade will also be arranged to ensure a quieter experience (along Nava and Grimón Street, from Plaza del Cristo to Pedro Pinto de la Rosa Street), to enhance the attendance and enjoyment of individuals with autism spectrum disorders or other sensitivities.
