This year, the eagerly awaited parade of the Three Wise Men has altered its route in Puerto de la Cruz, aiming for a more inviting and hospitable ambiance, concluding at the iconic square of the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Peña de Francia, rather than at the Shopping Centre Martiánez as in past years.

The enchantment will commence at 11:00 a.m. with a thrilling return to a cherished tradition that many have missed, having not taken place since 2019: the reception and collection of letters at the Church of La Peña de Francia. In a setting filled with sentiment, children will have the opportunity to present their letters to the Three Wise Men, while simultaneously, a food drive will be held to support Cáritas. A splendid chance to spread joy and benevolence.

The magical evening of Sunday, January 5, will initiate with a special welcome for the Kings of the East at Castillo de San Felipe at 7:00 p.m. Attendees can expect an atmosphere brimming with anticipation as they await the arrival of Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar.

At 7:30 p.m., the grand parade will commence, a vibrant journey full of colour and jubilation through the streets of the town (Luis Lavaggi, Blas Pérez González, José María del Campo Llarena, San Felipe, Plaza del Charco, La Marina, Santo Domingo and Quintana Street).

The Three Wise Men will share sweets and surprises, generating magical occasions that will be cherished by both the young and the old. During their route, as they pass the Peñita church, Their Majesties will take a moment in this inclusive area to greet the little ones.

The steps of La Peñita will provide all families with comfortable and safe access to the event. “We want everyone to experience the magic with no obstacles. This inclusive area is a measure towards creating a more accessible city for all,” highlights the Councilor for Accessibility, Claudia Hernández.

The celebration will conclude with a spectacular farewell event featuring a pyromusical display in the Plaza de la Iglesia at 9:30 p.m. This change of venue aims to provide a more intimate setting so that attendees can fully relish this one-of-a-kind experience.

The Festival Councilor, Javier González (PP), mentioned yesterday that “this year we have dedicated significant effort to ensure that the parade is an unforgettable celebration for everyone. With the new route and the location in the Church Square, we aim to foster a more welcoming and friendly atmosphere, enabling every family to embrace the enchantment of this time-honoured tradition. Moreover, inclusion is vital for us, and thus we have established an adapted area for all children to partake in this special experience.”

The mayor, Leopoldo Afonso (PP), expressed excitement for January 5, stating that “the Three Kings Parade is one of the most awaited events of the year, and in 2025 we aspire for it to be even more remarkable. By concluding in the Church Square, we not only honour our heritage but also create a space where everyone can come together and enjoy.”
