The inhabitants of the Salamanca district in the capital are expressing their concerns. Following a recent surge in thefts from local establishments, along with a rise in individuals struggling with addiction and the presence of vagrants, there is now a noticeable decline in cleanliness on the streets, where pedestrians encounter daily remnants of refuse cluttering the pavements.

Numerous bags and rubbish are strewn around the areas outside the waste containers.

They argue that there is a shortage of bins in a locality with a multitude of businesses, adding that “people are untidy,” they claim. Consequently, they decry that “Salamanca has turned into a new dumping ground and a breeding ground for cockroaches and rats.”
