Revitalizing Power: The La Quinta Battery Breakthrough

There are locations that we frequently pass by, yet they go largely unnoticed by most individuals. These historic sites recount events from our past, some of which may not even have occurred. Such is the case with the Fifth Battery, situated in Santa Úrsula. Coastal batteries are substantial military installations equipped with heavy artillery, positioned near the shoreline with the primary aim of safeguarding a fortified area, an arsenal, or a strategic passage from potential attacks by enemy forces. During the Second World War, the La Quinta battery was established as a crucial geostrategic location to monitor the northern coast of the island in anticipation of a possible invasion. Following the war, this fortification was progressively abandoned, and today only its structure endures, remaining in a delicate state of preservation.
