As is customary every Christmas Eve, Metrotenerife will conclude the tram service earlier, at 8:30 p.m. Until that hour, Line 1 will be operational on this Christmas Eve, Tuesday the 24th, with intervals between trams ranging from 6 to 10 minutes, while Line 2 will operate with frequencies of 12 to 20 minutes.

The final trams will depart at 8:30 p.m. from both ends of the lines, which means the stops where these trams were due to arrive will be inactive. Service on the lines will recommence at 08:00 on Wednesday the 25th, Christmas Day, and will follow the regular holiday schedules and frequencies.

Tuesday 24, Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, Tuesday the 24th, the trams will start operating at 06:00, as they do on any typical day. Following this, from 7:00 a.m., Line 1 will have a frequency of 6 minutes until 3:00 p.m., after which it will operate every 7.5 to 10 minutes.

Similarly, the trams on Line 2 will run every 12 minutes during the busy morning peak, while in the afternoon, the waiting time per stop will be 15 to 20 minutes. It is worth noting that both Line 1 and Line 2 will maintain frequencies of 10 and 20 minutes, respectively, until the service concludes at 8:30 p.m., when the last tram will depart from the termini of both lines.

Wednesday 25th, Christmas Day

The trams on Lines 1 and 2 will recommence operations on Christmas Day, Wednesday the 25th, from 08:00. The frequencies will reflect standard holiday times, typically ranging from 12 to 30 minutes, based on the specific time of day.

Please bear in mind that the services may occasionally be impacted by strikes conducted by the company’s staff from Monday to Friday, covering early morning, midday, and evening shifts.

During these disruptions, Metrotenerife will ensure the operation of Lines 1 and 2, adhering to the established minimum service levels of 80%.
