On December 19, the Bocadillazo Route in the Southwest district of Santa Cruz will take place. This was revealed by the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, who stated that “this initiative, which has involved 40 establishments in the Southwest district of Santa Cruz, has been immensely successful. To date, 1,045 individuals have registered on the web app and 923 reviews of the snack options have been recorded, confirming the positive reception of this route among the public.”

In this context, Bermúdez noted that “this initiative is part of the Enjoy in the Districts programme, and we aim to highlight the quality and culinary creativity of the 40 participating establishments located in the Southwest district of Santa Cruz.” He further encouraged locals and visitors to explore one of the participating venues and sample their sandwiches as there are still two days remaining to complete this Route.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, emphasised that “since the launch of the Bocadillazo Route in the Southwest district, we have seen an enthusiastic response from the public,” adding that “the highest-rated sandwich will receive a prize of €200; the second will receive €150, and the third €100. Additionally, those who vote for their favourite will be entered into a raffle for three gift vouchers worth €50 each to be redeemed at one of the participating establishments.”

Individuals seeking more information regarding the culinary offerings and all the establishments taking part in the Bocadillazo Route can visit the website. https://santacruzescomercio.com/ruta-del-bocadillazo/, where they will also find access to the web app https://bocadillazosc.com.

The Bocadillazo Route is a component of the Enjoy in the Districts Dynamisation Programme and is strategically linked to the Commerce Master Plan (axis 4 Dynamisation and promotion of consumption) as well as the Strategic Tourism Plan (axis 3 Product and Marketing of the destination). Furthermore, it aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals, including health and well-being, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, and sustainable cities and communities.
