Next Thursday, the 19th, Duggi Square will host “The Christmas Concert”, featuring performances by the El Cabo Artistic Union, the Municipal Choir of Voces Blancas, and guest artist Luis Morera. This event, brought together by the Centro-Ifara district office, will commence at 8:00 p.m. with no admission fee, marking it as a key highlight in the district’s festive schedule.
José Manuel Bermúdez, the city’s mayor, has encouraged locals to attend the concert, expressing his confidence that it will be a triumph and an excellent occasion to relish fine Canarian music, merging tradition with the festive spirit. He remarked, “We have a stellar line-up of artists who match the calibre of our city and this district.”
In addition, Purificación Dávila, the councilor for the Centro-Ifara district, emphasised that this concert “reflects our commitment to this year’s Christmas events, providing activities across all neighbourhoods to create a gathering point for our residents during these significant occasions.”
Returning for the second consecutive year, the El Cabo Artistic Union will grace Duggi Square, where it achieved outstanding success last year. This time, they will be accompanied by the Municipal Choir of Voces Blancas, under the direction of Manoli Triviño Alonso. Joining them will be Luis Morera, a highly esteemed figure in the Canary Islands known for his extensive musical expertise and dedication to preserving Canarian culture in all its forms.
The Christmas events in the Centro-Ifara district will continue on the 28th at Residencial Anaga Square, resuming activities that were postponed due to a weather warning issued last weekend. This event will feature a Market Zone and Food Trucks open from 12:00 to 21:00. A children’s area will be available, hosting Christmas craft workshops, inflatables, and a candy factory beginning at 4:00 p.m. Music will play a significant role, with performances by Big Bang Jazz Tamos at 12:30 p.m.; the Allegro Nivariense Vocal Group at 6:00 p.m.; followed by Celso Rodríguez at 7:00 p.m., and concluding with Ana Obando’s performance at 8:00 p.m.
Continuing with the festive celebrations, on January 4, La Llavita Square will host a surprise-filled morning for children, featuring a party that will start at 10:00 and conclude at 1:00 p.m.
In conclusion, with the arrival of the Three Wise Men around the corner, special areas for gift wrapping will be set up in the district on January 4 and 5.
