The Works and Services department of San Juan de la Rambla City Council has addressed a frequent request from residents by commencing improvements to the safety of the La Zarza playground, situated in the urban centre of the San José neighbourhood.
The project, which is projected to take around one month, involves constructing a perimeter fence around the park area to enhance its security, aid in maintenance, and prevent unregulated access by animals.
The primary aim of the project is to install a galvanised steel fence made up of electro-welded mesh panels, defensive spikes, and horizontal struts, created from galvanised wire. Additionally, a collapsible metal gate is also set to be included. The estimated cost for these works amounts to €11,168, which will be financed using internal funds.
Through these measures, access control and improved security for the area will be assured, especially as it is located in close proximity to a heavily trafficked road.
The most recent enhancement in 2023 involved refurbishing the children’s section, which included replacing the surface and adding new play equipment and furnishings.
