Canarian Coalition accuses the mayor of “despising” the project of the new pier

The Municipal Group of CC-PNC in the Town Hall of Puerto de la Cruz he criticized the mayor of the municipality, the socialist Marco González, for “endangering the future of the city and the dock project, I feel the only one who has politicized this matter.” The portuenses nationalists affirm in a statement that the mayor «has not done anything with this project and has refused to convene an extraordinary and monographic plenary session on the pier, showing his total contempt for the institution and the citizens. “And despite this, all he does is accuse the opposition, when he has been the one who has hidden it under a rug.”

The Canarian Coalition spokesperson in the City Council, Sandra Rodríguez, criticizes that the mayor “now intends to deny the work carried out in the previous term with the city dock project, wanting to become the savior of the project when he has always ignored it and it he has allowed himself to die, refusing to talk about the matter and on top of that, when he does speak, he does so with totally inaccurate data ». In addition, Rodríguez denounced that “all the important projects for the city have gone through the PSOE roll from all the institutions, with the complicit silence of the mayor of Porto.”

The nationalist councilor recalls that already in 2015, being mayor of the city, «we sought and obtained the support of the mayors of the North for this vital project for Puerto de la Cruz and for the entire region, with a high view and without having political parties into account ». Too, in the last mandate, “a roadmap was agreed between all the political forces with representation in the city council and with him Island Council of Tenerife, co-governed by CC and the PSOE itself, to carry out this project and it was the four years in which the most progress was made and in a decisive way so that this longed-for project saw the light, “he clarified.

«The reality that Marco González now wants to deny is that, at the end of the previous mandate in 2019, there was the basic project drawn up and delivered that gives rise to the environmental document that began to be processed, taking it to the sectoral councils of all entities and The Costas report was received in which a series of modifications or improvements were requested, “he stressed. “These contents”, continues the mayor of CC, “They were redrafted and the environmental impact statement was found that had all the material contents to be able to issue it”. «The construction project was also contracted, which was not finished writing despite being well advanced because the basic one was very complete, pending receipt of the final DIA to request the assignment of the maritime-land domain, completing the construction project with the DIA and tendering the works, a procedure that if all the necessary pressure was put in place, in a year the tender for the works could have come out. ” “In these two and a half years, the Government of the Canary Islands has made absolutely no progress, since it has been asked in parliament and has responded to our Group in Parliament that there are no changes.”
