The burying of Francisco La Roche avenue for one million euros, the drafting of the Santa Cruz spa rehabilitation project for 500,000 euros and that of the church of Regla for another 300,000 euros are some of the amendments that the Popular Party will present to the budgets of the Government of the Canary Islands for projects to be developed in Santa Cruz next year.
In total, the modifications proposed by the PP to the accounts of the Autonomous Community for the capital exceed four million. The PP will do the same with those of the Cabildo de Tenerife, with the difference that in this last institution the amendments exceed 11 million euros, a figure so high fundamentally for the eight million that they request for the urbanization of the Santa Cruz general highway -Laguna, from the Vuelta de Los Pájaros to Vistabella.
The detail of these amendments was presented yesterday by the PP spokesman in Santa Cruz and first deputy mayor, Guillermo Díaz Guerra; the national deputy Ana Zurita; the regional deputy Luz Reverón; the insular councilor Zaida González, and the councilor for Urban Planning of the capital, Carlos Tarife.
Díaz Guerra pointed out that “these amendments are a call for support to the rest of the administrations to cover the needs of Santa Cruz. “We feel that, for the first time, the capital has been abandoned in the budgets of both the State, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo.” In addition, he added that he hopes that “common sense prevails, and needs are prioritized and not political color.”
Zurita explained that the PP presented two amendments to the General State Budgets, one to develop an action on the coast of Añaza, for 200,000 euros, and another for the replacement of houses in the neighborhood of José Antonio, for five million. Both were rejected. “In next year’s budgets there is no room for replacement of homes,” he denounced.
For Luz Reverón, the budgets of the Canary Islands Government “are not good”, because “they do not generate confidence as they are not consistent with the current economic situation.” Thus, he detailed the amendments that his parliamentary group presents to the accounts of Ángel Víctor Torres, among which are several for sports complexes, one for an employment plan (300,000 euros), the reform of the swimming pool of the Las Delicias school (80,000 ) or the project of a new connection with the TF-5 through the Ramblas, for 300,000 euros.
Zaida González, for his part, described the budgets of the Cabildo de Tenerife as “servile, parasitic, sectarian and fictitious”, denouncing that they reduce real investment by 27 million euros. Among the exclusive amendments for Santa Cruz, González highlighted the reform of the Cidemat. “We remember that the arrangement of this building is within the agreement for the Valleseco beach, in which the Cabildo contributes less in exchange for rehabilitating the Cidemat,” he said. The insular PP will ask 1,450.00 euros for this purpose. For the improvement of the soccer field of Las Delicias they request another 1.2 million.
