SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Deputy Minister of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, Antonio Olivera, has advanced this Thursday that it is “immensely probable” that this Friday it will be decided, on the recommendation of the General Directorate of Public Health, that the islands of Tenerife and Gran Canaria pass to level 2 epidemiological alert.

In a press conference to give an account of the agreements of the Governing Council, he commented that this Friday the ‘traffic light’ will be published so that it comes into force next Monday since Public Health has asked for a little more margin to analyze the data after several holidays.

Olivera has indicated that “it will not surprise” that these two islands rise in level because the indicators support the worsening of the health situation although he has indicated that a slight “stagnation” is observed in the Accumulated Incidence at 7 days, especially in the Tenerife island.

“We are going to see if the crest of the sixth wave has been reached or is it just a stop, but there is data with a tendency to stabilize,” he added.

Olivera has also indicated that this Thursday the order of the Ministry of Health on the voluntary use of the Covid certificate was published, which gives the advantage of loosening the restrictions and the Government expects it to be “a very effective mechanism” thanks to the development of an ‘app’ that facilitates it in a simple and anonymous way.

He has said that giving a specific number of establishments that can request it “is very complicated” until the downloads are monitored, although he has valued that the associations linked to risky activities have transferred to the Government their “enormous support and satisfaction “before judicial ratification.
