The La Laguna City Council, through the Mobility and Transport Department, has arranged a specific public transport and parking strategy for The White Night celebration this Saturday. To ensure smooth mobility, a substantial enhancement of bus and tram services has been planned in collaboration with the Cabildo, as stated by the area’s mayor, Domingo Galván, amongst other initiatives.

The Commerce Councillor, Estefanía Díaz, underscored the significance of facilitating movement for attendees while minimizing the impact on city traffic. This has been a prominent concern addressed in the Colour on White Forum, aiming to provide citizens various alternatives for accessing the city centre, thereby avoiding traffic disruptions and parking challenges.

Galván elaborated that tram lines will see increased frequencies with seven additional services, and double trams will be deployed to enhance passenger capacity and lessen waiting durations.

In terms of Titsa, urban and interurban lines such as 014, 015, 050, 102, 103, 104, 108, and 219 will receive enhanced services. Moreover, the city council has introduced a complimentary shuttle service connecting the parking facilities of Alcampo La Laguna Shopping Centre directly with the Lagunero Interchange from 3:50 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

Specifically, Titsa will boost the usual departures for lines 014 and 015 (Santa Cruz de Tenerife-La Laguna Interchange) with 14 additional trips in each direction from 4:45 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. on Sunday for 014, and from 6:15 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. for 015.

Additionally, line 104 will feature extra departures from the La Laguna Interchange at 01:00, 02:25, and 03:45. The company has implemented eight extra departures of the 108 from the north between 2:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Furthermore, line 050 will have additional services at 8:45 p.m., 11:30 p.m., and 1:30 a.m., with lines 102 and 103 also experiencing extra trips based on demand.

Moreover, the three parking areas at the Guajara Campus, located on Professor José Luis Moreno Becerra Avenue, will be accessible for connections to the tram lines to facilitate access to the centre. The partnership between the City Council, the ULL, and the Alcampo Shopping Centre has been crucial for the organisation of these services, as highlighted by Galván. Muvisa Parking has also announced it will bolster its staffing in the car parks located in the historic centre.

In addition, traffic in the historic centre will face various restrictions during the event, as outlined in a mayoral decree, which can be reviewed on the City Council’s website. Traffic disruptions are scheduled from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday until the conclusion of the festivities, with no circulation permitted within the event area. There will also be specific adjustments made to facilitate access to garages and vital services.
