The La Laguna City Council has mandated the temporary closure of the bathing spots at Bajamar, Punta del Hidalgo, and Jover due to adverse weather conditions impacting the coastline of the municipality.
This decision, announced early Thursday, aims to ensure the safety of bathers and visitors, who are currently at risk owing to the condition of the sea.
The Council has urged residents to adhere to the signs placed at these access points and to exercise caution along the coast.
The sole exception to this directive is La Barranquera, which will remain accessible to the public, serving as the only operational bathing area within the municipality.
Weather Forecast
Weather conditions in La Laguna are expected to remain unpredictable over the coming days. Showers and minimum temperatures reaching 13 degrees are forecast, while sea conditions will feature north or northwest winds ranging from force 2 to 4, shifting to west or northwest by the end of the period. Swell conditions will increase, potentially reaching heights of 1 to 2 metres.
The City Council emphasises the importance of adhering to safety recommendations and respecting the current restrictions in place at the affected bathing areas until such time as conditions permit a safe reopening.
