Agents from the National Police apprehended Santiago Carlos Martín, the head of the Civil Protection Volunteer Group for the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, on Wednesday, as confirmed by official sources from the National Police Corps to Europa Press.
The judicial authority has imposed a confidentiality order on the proceedings, preventing the consulted sources from disclosing the alleged charges against Santiago Carlos Martín that led to his arrest this morning.
Aside from his role as head of the Civil Protection Volunteer Group, Santiago C. Martín also serves as the coordinator for the SOS Desaparecidos association in the Canary Islands. Up to this point, there has been no official statement from the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council regarding his arrest.
