The White Night of La Laguna, set to take place on November 23, will feature the introduction of lockers at key locations throughout the city, allowing attendees to deposit their purchases and fully immerse themselves in the festivities. These lockers will be situated at the La Laguna Open Commercial Zone (LLZC) on Obispo Rey Redondo Street, 34, and at the Caja Escape Room, located on Herradores Street 23.
Items can be stored at these locations from 10:00 a.m. until midnight, and visitors can retrieve their belongings until Monday, November 25, during business hours. This initiative was revealed by Estefanía Diaz, the City Council’s Commerce Mayor, who stated that the aim is to “enhance the shopping experience, enabling the public to leave their items at these spots without concern while they explore and engage in the extensive cultural programme, street performances, art exhibitions, concerts, and various sports, culinary, and recreational activities designed for everyone.”
“The true stars of the White Night are our merchants, and this occasion is dedicated to promoting their sales while showcasing their offerings. Numerous establishments will extend their opening hours until midnight and provide special promotions in this festive and inviting atmosphere,” remarked Díaz, emphasising that this service running throughout the day will empower attendees to move about freely without the burden of shopping bags, allowing them to continue exploring the stores. She clarified that this idea originated from the business community itself during the ‘Colour on White’ White Night Forum, facilitated by the Department to collaborate with different social stakeholders in organising the event.
“For retailers, this service offers a distinct advantage, as it encourages individuals and families to spend more time exploring the cultural and shopping options without feeling weighed down by their purchases. Additionally, the provision of lockers enables them to make several stops without being encumbered by bags, thereby increasing foot traffic in the shops and potentially boosting sales,” she added.
Iván Pérez, president of La Laguna Open Commercial Zone (LLZC) and a participant in this Forum, underscored the significance of this event for the local economy. “La Noche en Blanco reflects our commitment to the economic and social development of La Laguna, and we are collaborating with businesses to create an enticing shopping experience.” Pérez further noted that “this locker system marks a logistical improvement, allowing visitors to discover commerce and culture comfortably, while strolling and engaging with the various revitalisation efforts throughout the city.”
La Laguna boasts a leading commercial sector within the island marketplace. “This November 23, each business will have the chance to re-establish its identity and share its narrative with visitors. It is an ideal moment to connect with new customers and foster an inviting atmosphere that highlights the quality and uniqueness of your products and brands,” concluded Estefanía Díaz.
