Officials from the National Police are examining the recent discovery of a substantial quantity of ammunition of various calibres, components for firearms, and materials intended for their manufacture in a flat situated in Puerto de la Cruz.
The location where the ammunition was uncovered, along with the manufacturing materials, had been shut for a year and was within a building that previously operated as a boarding house before it was vacated.
It was during initial renovations and cleaning by the new owners that they stumbled upon the ammunition, promptly notifying the authorities.
Among the items uncovered were cartridges of .22 calibre, .38 Special, .38 long, as well as hunting cartridges and other calibres, along with tools for cartridge production and firearm components, including a magazine and a revolver grip.
Following the necessary investigative actions, officers arrested the former manager of the boarding house, identified as the suspected perpetrator of a crime relating to the illegal possession of weapons, as she resided on the third floor of the premises where the discovery was made.
After the arrest, the woman was remanded to the judicial authorities as the investigation into the incident continues.
