One of the establishments situated in the Salamanca district of the capital of Tenerife, particularly a 24-hour supermarket on General Mola Avenue, has once again fallen victim to a robbery carried out by the same individual who previously targeted the same store on October 23.
This incident took place last Friday, when the suspected criminal executed another violent theft within the premises, menacing the staff member with a knife to acquire 300 euros from the cash register, as confirmed by local sources. Witnesses report that this is the same individual of North African descent, who had committed a theft at the same establishment days earlier, albeit during the morning hours and lasting merely “45 seconds.”
On this occasion, the purported thief was observed wearing shorts and a bandage on his arm, according to bystanders. Previously, as reported by DIARIO DE AVISOS, he donned a dark hooded sweatshirt and a mask concealing his face.
The residents of this neighbourhood are calling for a permanent solution to the “insecurity” they have experienced over the past several months, during which time over 15 incidents have transpired in the area, including violent robberies involving knives.
In recent weeks, a total of five robberies involving intimidation have been reported in local businesses. This prompted the La Arboleda Neighbourhood Association to convene with the Centro-Ifara district council alongside the local and National Police to discuss strategies to combat crime in the locality.
