“The partial plan of El Mojón encompasses not only hotel developments but also residential, commercial and public spaces, hence common sense should take precedence. It is not appropriate to amalgamate this partial plan, which we have been anticipating for decades, with other new developments,” stated Dácil León Reverón, the second deputy mayor and councillor for Economic Development, Tourism, the Primary Sector, and Employment of Arona, during an interview with the radio station Onda Tenerife yesterday.
The mayor of Más por Arona appealed for “sensitivity” in the urban planning of one of the most coveted plots in the south of Tenerife: “When it comes to expansion, every aspect must be meticulously assessed, ensuring that the infrastructure supports a harmonious coexistence of the establishments. We aspire to grow and progress, but it must be done in an orderly manner,” he emphasised. Additionally, he referenced the evolution experienced by Palm-Mar as a residential zone, noting that “though holiday rentals have also surged, this is a type of accommodation that requires regulation; mere responsibility is insufficient.”
MORE STAFF
In terms of the operation of the Arona Administration, León Reverón acknowledges that “the severe shortage of personnel across all institutions is dire, making the fulfilment of human resource needs extremely challenging, regardless of the assistance from trusted staff.” The second deputy mayor concedes that the council requires “technicians and officials.”
