Celebrated Musician and Producer Dave Watts Passes Away in Tenerife

The musician, DJ and producer of British descent, Dave Watts, a member of the Anglo-Pakistani ensemble Fun-Da-Mental, passed away this Sunday in Tenerife, the isle where he resided with his family and from which he operated as a musical creator and artist.

The family has already informed friends of this loss through a written message shared on social media. In the note, his wife, Beatriz López, expresses that “life consistently presents us with the unavoidable task of communicating to others the saddest and most heartbreaking news, yet as genuine as our existence that allows itself to be accompanied by the routine rhythm of life. Today, not long ago, Dave, Dave Watts, D. WattsRiot, KingLMan or the member of Fun-Da-Mental has departed from us. He has said farewell, surely before the countdown begins.”

In the same personal announcement, it is stated that “regardless of how they have known him throughout his life, he was perpetually abundant in bravery, music, energy, kindness, and love, because always, and always is perpetual, he was linked with the finest causes. (…) His life has concluded sooner than we would have preferred, but what we must now do is accept the harsh trial and ensure from this point on, with strength and wisdom, to uphold all his goodness, all his artistry and his musical heritage, and primarily the glowing flame of his affection.”

Dave Watts’ remains are now resting in the Mother of the Redeemer Shelter, in El Sauzal, “before his journey to the universe, where he will share all the music that resides in his mind and heart with those who came before him.”

The family also announces that the farewell mass will occur this Monday, October 28, 2024, at 12:00, in the church of San Pedro in the same municipality.
