The Cabildo of Tenerife has introduced a cultural application to enhance accessibility and promotion of events on the island. Since June, the Culture Area has been collaborating with La Mecha Studio on the development of this application, which was unveiled this Tuesday.
This new tool is accessible to everyone. “It serves to promote the extensive variety and high standard of cultural programming available each week on the Island. Additionally, it will be updated to include a range of languages,” stated the Vice President and Minister of Tourism, Lope Afonso.
The Minister of Culture and Museums of Tenerife, José Carlos Acha, remarked that “we are dedicated to providing inclusive cultural information that is available to all and is centralised. This marks the first time an app related to culture has been developed by the Tenerife Cabildo. For the first time in this application, we encompass all centres associated with Culture and Museums within the Tenerife Corporation.”
The application allows users to effortlessly explore significant cultural events on the island. The homepage features the most prominent events of the month, with options to apply filters for quick access to activities by categories such as music, theatre, art, and more.
Each event provides comprehensive information, such as date, time, location, and description, making it simpler to plan attendance at these activities.
Furthermore, the app includes an interactive calendar that enables users to search for events by month, thus assisting them in discovering activities that align with their schedules. Additionally, it provides direct access to the agendas of key cultural venues in Tenerife, including the Tenerife Auditorium, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, Tenerife Museums, and the Network of Municipal Stage Spaces, which consolidates the cultural offerings onto a single platform.
It is worth mentioning that the app is currently available on the Apple Store and will soon be launched on Android, thereby increasing accessibility for all users.
This initiative, in collaboration with the Culture Area of the Cabildo de Tenerife, aims to foster greater participation in the cultural life of the island, enhancing visibility and access to its key events.
