Serious Accident in Teide National Park Leaves Two Motorcyclists Injured

This past Friday, two bikers sustained injuries, one of them severely, following a collision on the TF-21 road, at the 40-kilometre mark within the Teide National Park, in the municipality of La Orotava, as reported by the 112 Emergency Coordination Centre of the Canarian Government.

The individual who was seriously injured, suffering from multiple traumas, was airlifted by medical helicopter to the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital. Meanwhile, the other rider, who had moderate injuries, received assistance from Red Cross teams and was transported by a basic life support ambulance to the same healthcare facility.

The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 am, at which point 112 received an alert regarding the collision of the two motorcycles on the aforementioned route.

The 112 service promptly deployed the required emergency resources, and personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service attended to the injured and arranged for the air evacuation of the individual with the most severe injuries.

The Civil Guard took charge of the necessary procedures and managed to redirect traffic on the road to facilitate the landing of the SUC aircraft, in collaboration with the road service.

Personnel from National Parks assisted alongside emergency responders.
