The Santa Cruz City Council, via the Autonomous Organisation of Festivals and Recreational Activities (OAFAR), is hosting an event themed around Africa this Friday, 18th October, starting at 8:30 p.m. in Plaza de España. The event will feature REWA, the creator of the promotional poster.

This first dance of the Carnival 2025, entitled Secrets of Africa, promises to entertain attendees until midnight. “This initiative was a tremendous success during the last edition, prompting us to repeat the successful formula this year,” explained the mayor of the capital, José Manuel Bermúdez.

The public will have the opportunity to admire the design crafted by REWA, a globally acclaimed Nigerian artist chosen to create the promotional poster for Carnival 2025.

Performing will be a range of local talents, including the Tenerife singer St. Pedro, who was a finalist in Benidorm Fest 2024 and La Voz 2017; the Raspberry Orchestra, who will once again deliver the most iconic Carnival songs to get everyone dancing; the talented Arodi Llanos from Tenerife; and DJ Fabrizzio Salgado, who will infuse the performance with a contemporary urban vibe, resulting in a vibrant three-hour show.

Carnival 2025 is set to officially kick off on 31st January with its opening Gala.
