The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, through the Mobility and Public Services department, has announced various conditions regarding road traffic, including the closure of certain roads and streets, along with the removal of some surface parking areas. This is due to events such as the unveiling of the Carnival 2025 poster, the launch of the Tenerife Island Rallytomorrow, and the Santa Cruz Extreme event that will traverse part of the Anaga massif. Residents are advised to heed the instructions from police and posted signs.

Regarding tomorrow, Friday, in relation to the presentation of the Carnival 2025 poster, six online parking spaces will be designated, located on the right side in the direction of traffic along the Alameda del Duque Santa Elena, which are currently used for unloading and loading (2) and for motorbikes (4). This reservation will be in effect from 2:00 p.m. until the conclusion of the event, approximately at 11:59 p.m.

Additionally, to facilitate the event and considering the expected influx of attendees, a segment of Bravo Murillo Avenue will be closed between Imeldo Seris and Plaza del Cabildo, redirecting traffic along Imeldo Serís towards Marítima Avenue from 8:00 p.m. until the event concludes, along with the relocation of the Bravo Murillo taxi rank and that at Plaza de España (in front of Cabildo) until 11:59 p.m., which is the anticipated end of the event.

On Marítima Avenue, in the section between Francisco La Roche and Imeldo Serís, vehicles coming from Francisco La Roche will be redirected towards the Vía Litoral Tunnel, beginning at 8:00 p.m. until the event finishes. Regarding the Plaza de España parking facility, signage will indicate entry and exit, while the exit from Plaza España to Avda. Marítima will remain unaffected, impacting solely the entry through Plaza de España, which will be closed as the road in front of the Town Hall is utilized.

50 Tenerife Island Rally

This event, which commences near Plaza España this Friday, designates Zone A for verifications, creating a closed vehicle park located between Avda. Marítima and Plaza de España. Zone B will host the start/finish podium at Plaza del Cabildo, while Zone C will accommodate the service park in the Cercado Corazón roundabout, situated in La Gallega.

In Zone A, positioned on Francisco Grandi Giraud promenade, from 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, space will be reserved for motorcycles and VMP at the intersection of La Marina Street and Avda. Francisco La Roche (former Capricho bar), alongside the removal of additional parking from this reserved area. This parking will be cleared from 9:00 a.m. on Friday to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, only to be reinstated after the event concludes.

On Avda. Marítima, parking spaces will be reserved in a battery and line configuration on both sides between Plaza de España and the entrances to the parking area, in effect from 09:00 a.m. on Friday until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. Beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and lasting until 8:00 p.m., this section of the avenue will be closed (from Bar Capricho), while access to the Plaza de España parking lot will remain open for the initiation of technical verifications and vehicle displays in Parc Fermé.

In Zone B, where the start/finish podium is located, reservations will be required for parking, in addition to closing existing lanes between Plaza del Cabildo and Plaza de España (between Bravo Murillo Avenue and Marítima Avenue) from 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday (including assembly and disassembly).

On Avda. Marítima (Closed Park), traffic from Avda. Francisco La Roche will be rerouted towards the Vía Litoral Tunnel, and vehicles accessing from La Marina to Plaza de España will only be allowed entry to Plaza España parking starting at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow until 8:00 p.m. Access along Bravo Murillo Avenue to Plaza de España must be restricted to traffic from 8:00 a.m. tomorrow until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, along with relocating the Bravo Murillo taxi rank and Plaza de España (in front of Cabildo), all until the event concludes.

Concerning the Plaza de España parking, access to and from it must be allowed via signage, with the exit from Plaza España to Avda. Marítima unaffected. The only limitation will be the entry through Plaza de España, which will be closed due to the occupation of the road in front of the Cabildo.

In Zone C, where the service park is situated, parking must be reserved, along with the closure of lanes at the Cercado Corazón roundabout, Avda. El Liter to the crossover with Elías Espinosa Street, from 9:00 a.m. on Friday to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. There will also be traffic restrictions and diversions at the Cercado Corazón roundabout with Avda. El Liter to the junction with Elías Espinosa Street, thus prompting residents and drivers to observe the signage placed well in advance.

Finally, it is important to note that the Vía Litoral Tunnel will remain accessible to traffic at all times, while entry and exit to and from the Plaza de España parking will be maintained except during specific periods when traffic on Marítima Avenue is halted.

Santa Cruz Extreme

Due to the Santa Cruz Extreme mountain race, happening this Friday and Saturday, October 18 and 19, which passes through the Anaga Rural Park, there will be temporary road closures, traffic diversions, and parking bans affecting various areas. This includes traffic effects this Saturday, where Pedro Schwartz Avenue will experience intermittent closures from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The alternative route will be via TF-12 Taganana, El Bailadero, and Anaga. Additionally, El Cercado road will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., except for local residents.

In the TF-136 PK 2+740 area, closures are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. At the intersection of Roque Negro highway with El Bailadero highway, the closures will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at TF-12 PK 18+ 330 – PK 18+380. In Tahodio, another affected road, it will be closed to all except residents from house number 4 with Valle Luis from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Additionally, intermittent traffic interruptions will be found on José Martí Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Effects on bus lines and stops

Due to the Carnival poster presentation event, starting at 7:45 p.m. and continuing until completion, closures at Bravo Murillo and Avda. Maritime will lead to diversions for lines 909, 910, 914, 916, 917, 920, 921, 945, 946, 947, and 970. Additionally, stops at Plaza de España, Plaza de Isabel II, Cabildo, La Marina, La Alameda, and Almeyda will be out of service.

As an alternative, passengers may board line 914 in the vicinity of the Alameda and La Marina towards the Intercambiador. Line 920 will resume its regular route from the Rambla de Santa Cruz stop towards the Intercambiador. The Plaza de Europa stop will be the nearest functioning stop available.

Furthermore, in relation to the 50 Tenerife Island Rally, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October will see lines 055, 909, 910, 921, 944, 945, 946, and 947 undergo detours, with the following stops rendered out of service during the specified times:

Lines 909, 910, 921, 945, 946, and 947 will not stop at Plaza de España from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday the 18th. Moreover, line 944 will bypass the El Litere and El Queque roundabout in La Gallega from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday. Likewise, line 055 will not stop at the El Liter roundabout in La Gallega from 2:00 p.m. on Friday until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The City Council advises all individuals to remain vigilant during these events and the sports race, paying attention to instructive signage, directives from the authorities and security personnel, while also planning their journeys in advance to prevent any inconveniences. Additionally, it expresses apologies for any disruptions encountered and appreciates the cooperation.
