The Civil Guard has apprehended a 46-year-old male as the suspected culprit behind the theft of fragrances valued at €5,570 from shops at Tenerife South airport, where he gained entry by purchasing a ticket and obtaining a boarding pass.
The arrested individual, a resident of Madrid, is facing allegations of a continuous theft offence, as reported by the armed institution in a statement issued this Monday.
Following reports of an initial theft, officers commenced an investigation and reviewed surveillance footage, eventually gathering sufficient evidence to apprehend this suspect.
This individual had accessed the boarding zone on three separate occasions and allegedly committed two thefts, being arrested whilst attempting to steal additional fragrances.
The detainee has been remanded to the Granadilla Court of Investigation.
