The El Rosario City Council has hired for the next six months first group of 27 unemployed people thanks to the Extraordinary Social Employment Program 2022. This group of workers corresponds to the first phase of a total of 54 unemployed people who will be employed during this month and in the course of next year. The program benefits from a municipal investment of 205,000 euros and a grant from the Canary Islands Employment Service of 293,000 euros.
The mayor of El Rosario, Escolástico Gil, received the 27 workers yesterday at the Casa de la Cultura. He underlined “the effort” made by the City Council to finance these employment programs, the financing of which “is possible because when we get to the Government we lower our salary and we can allocate those 200,000 euros a year that we save to pay for employment policies.” Gil also reminded the new municipal employees that “from now on they will be part of the City Council and, therefore, I ask them to act with professionalism and responsibility.”
In addition to the Social Employment Plans, the El Rosario City Council currently manages a Employability Plan that benefits 32 long-term unemployed with an investment of more than 280,000 euros and will soon start a Training Program in Alternating Employment (PFAE), also agreed with the SCE. The professional categories of the 27 employees are: twelve laborers, six first-class officers, three cleaning assistants, two administrative assistants, two socio-cultural animators, a home help assistant and an industrial engineer.
