Teje el Porvenir celebrates its eighth edition. / GIVES

The Development Society has opened the registration period for the Teje el porvenir training project, a course through which 12 people will be trained in making fabrics, which is now in its eighth edition. This was reported by the CEO of the capital city, Alfonso Cabello, who explained that “the project will be developed between December 2021 and June 2022, will have 510 hours of training, and aims to benefit a dozen unemployed people with minimal knowledge in textile manufacturing ”.

In this sense, the mayor pointed out that “on this occasion we will prioritize that the beneficiaries of the project are from groups with special difficulties of labor insertion”, and added that “this project improves the employability of the participating people because, in addition to occupational training in textile manufacturing, pattern making and painting on canvas, transversal training is also given in computer science, promotion of your product, awareness of entrepreneurship and employment advice: preparation of CV, preparation of a job interview, among others ”.

“The Teje el porvenir project meets two very important objectives: training and improving the employability of the participating people and providing clothing and household items to different social assistance centers, since all the material that is made will be donated to social centers “Recalled Cabello, who stressed that” this is the eighth edition of this initiative, which has been consolidated over time, in fact, for the 2019-2020 edition that was going to be launched and that due to the pandemic, no we were able to celebrate, we had a waiting list of almost fifty interested people ”.

Regarding the training that the beneficiaries will receive during the project, the mayor explained that “throughout the 510 total hours, they will carry out 200 hours of textile manufacturing workshop; 50 basic pattern; 20 of a training module on types of fabrics, properties and utilities; 15 paint on canvas; 15 for promoting your product and calculating costs; 40 basic computer science; 2.5 awareness towards entrepreneurship; 7.5 knowledge capsules; Job counseling session 10; and 150 of non-labor practices in companies ”.

“Participation in this project is free and interested persons can register, from tomorrow until December 8, through the website www.empleasantacruz.com”, stressed Cabello, who stressed that “once we select to the beneficiaries, our idea is to start training on December 15th ”.

In this sense, the mayor stressed that “as a novelty, this edition will be held at the new Municipal Training and Employment Center of Santa Cruz, in Tena Artigas, where we have more spacious, modern classrooms and better conditions of space and light. , and where, for example, the new textile manufacturing classroom covers an area of ​​107.10 square meters ”.
