The European premiere of the opera Luciérnaga marks a significant highlight of the latest edition of Classical Laguna Experience. Composed by Gabriela Ortiz and featuring a libretto by Silvia Peláez, the opera narrates the tale of Alcira Soust Scaffo, a Uruguayan poet who endured 12 days hidden in the restrooms of the National Autonomous University of Mexico during the military oppression of the 1968 Student Movement.
