Plenilunio Santa Cruz is once again impressing with an extravagant musical line-up. Both artists are set to perform this Saturday, October 5, on the Plaza de la Candelaria stage,

Indeed, the connection with the audience and their consistently uplifting songs celebrating life and love are key elements of Macaco and El Vega’s live performances. The concert at La Candelaria will kick off at 8:00 p.m. with the Costa Rican DJ Sistah Vibes. Following that, El Vega will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. Attendees can look forward to another mixing session while preparations are made for Macaco’s performance, which begins at 10:00 p.m. Once the Catalan musician concludes his set, the festivities will continue as Sistah Vibes returns to the turntables.

The Vega Life

Before heading to Madrid this autumn, El Vega arrives at Plenilunio Santa Cruz brimming with excitement after a summer filled with achievements both locally and beyond. The artist has pioneered what is referred to as “rumbita canaria,” embodying a style of singing that reflects the positivity of Adrián’s lifestyle. His latest music video “Ana,” shot in the Canary Islands, has already amassed half a million views on YouTube, attracting comments from various Spanish-speaking countries. Overall, El Vega Life has surpassed 20 million views across all his videos, and he has topped the Click and Roll chart on LOS40 Canarias multiple times, being named Artist of the Year in the Islands in 2020. His vibrant themes, often infused with a sense of humour, blend reggae, rumba, salsa, and vallenato. In addition to his success on stages across the islands, El Vega has performed in cities such as Madrid, Cádiz, Valencia, Seville, Granada, and Málaga, and has participated in festivals like Viña Rock and Arenal Sound.

Macaco

The much-anticipated concert by Macaco is set to commence at 10:00 p.m. this Saturday. The Catalan artist has rightfully earned recognition as one of Spain’s most esteemed creators, both domestically and internationally. A hallmark of his work is the fusion of musical influences from around the globe, a result of his ongoing exploration of diverse cultures. Macaco expresses his lived experiences through music, establishing himself as an iconic figure in genre blending.

Born in Barcelona in 1972, he is nearing the milestone of 30 years in music, and among his notable tracks is “Moving,” which received nominations for both the Latin Grammy Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards. This song features on the album “Puerto presente,” which topped sales charts in Spain in 2009 and achieved platinum status. Additionally, Macaco boasts several accolades, including an Ondas Award and a LOS40 Music Award.

During his performance at Plenilunio Santa Cruz, we can certainly expect to hear “Moving,” along with hits like “Con la mano levantá,” “Hijos de un misma dio,” and “Volar,” as well as newer tracks such as “Let love become fashionable,” from his latest album, “Vuelame el corazón,” released in 2023.

As a fun fact for fans of 80s pop culture, Macaco began his career as a film voice-over artist, with one of his first roles being the Spanish voice of the character Mikey Walsh, the protagonist of the film “The Goonies.”
