SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 1st Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Science and Technology Park (PCTT), has today signed a collaboration agreement with several local councils to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among approximately 128,000 young individuals across the Island.
The event was attended by the president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila; the Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez; the managing director of the PCTT, Olga Martín, alongside representatives from the municipalities that entered the agreement.
Rosa Dávila emphasized that the Cabildo “is committed to innovation and a forward-looking vision for Tenerife, involving new technological initiatives and the dissemination of knowledge from scientific disciplines to the broader society.”
“Our aim is to cultivate an island ecosystem where every area of Tenerife can become a cradle of ideas and projects, thereby enhancing the training of roughly 128,000 young individuals, which represents the youth demographic – those aged 18 to 35 – residing in the municipalities that have joined the agreement,” she further stated.
As noted by Rosa Dávila, “our pledge to local councils is to assist them in fostering the development of competencies and skills among young individuals and other groups in the sphere of innovation and technological entrepreneurship.”
In his remarks, Juan José Martínez highlighted that the Tenerife Science and Technology Park “aims to contribute to the diversification of the Island’s economy by cultivating a culture of innovation. We aspire to enhance the activities of the Park across various municipalities, ensuring equitable opportunities for all young people on the island.
The aim of the collaboration agreement is to bolster the development of capabilities, skills, and expertise in the realm of technological innovation and entrepreneurship among the different community groups, fostering improvements in competitiveness, the creation of innovative talent, and economic diversification on the island of Tenerife.
Consequently, the objectives of the agreement include providing training and career guidance services, as well as business information and advisory support; empowering the various economic sectors within the municipality; and furthering the promotion of research and technological development institutions.
