SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The IX Canary Islands Motor Show will take place at the Tenerife Fairgrounds from October 3 to 6, featuring an area of 16,000 square metres, with participation from 50 companies spread across 48 stands and 25 exhibition areas.
The inauguration of the Motor Show was attended by Manuel Fernández, the Industry Councillor of the Cabildo and vice president of the Fairgrounds; Rafael Pombriego, the executive vice president of Fredica; and David Mille, the general director of Commerce for the Government of the Canary Islands.
Manuel Fernández stated that this event occurs biennially and noted that the last edition attracted 25,000 attendees, a figure anticipated to be surpassed this ninth time around.
He further added that the Cabildo’s support for such events is “crucial”, especially considering the economic significance of the automotive industry in Tenerife, which provides stable and high-quality employment.
In addition, Rafael Pombriego remarked that initiatives of this nature “help to invigorate this sector, which is vital for the islands’ economy,” and announced that this year the hall will also feature the I Congress of Automotive as a new addition.
He elaborated that the purpose of this congress is to examine the sector’s challenges and opportunities under the theme ‘Automotive, sowing the future’, uniting experts and industry professionals through a comprehensive agenda of discussions and debates that encompasses topics such as training, sustainable mobility, the present state of the automotive sector, and matters related to accessibility within the industry.
Lastly, David Mille, the general director of Commerce for the Government of the Canary Islands, emphasised “the significance of the automobile sector for the commercial progress of the Canary Islands, where innovation and sustainability are essential concepts.”
