SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28th September (EUROPA PRESS) –

An elderly woman, aged 82, has been admitted to hospital in a critical state after colliding with a wall on Camino El Morro, within the municipality of Breña Alta. Two men, aged 54 and 57, were also part of the incident, as stated by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The incident took place at approximately 3:30 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operational centre received an alert regarding a van that had struck a wall, with several individuals injured, including one person trapped.

Cecoes promptly deployed the necessary emergency services, which included a medicalised ambulance, an additional basic life support ambulance, and another sanitised ambulance from the SUC, as well as the Civil Guard and La Palma Fire Department, who arrived at the site.

Upon arrival, firefighters secured the vehicle and extricated the trapped driver, enabling her to receive medical attention due to her severe injuries. The SUC personnel confirmed she was in cardiorespiratory arrest and carried out both basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques before transferring her to the General Hospital of La Palma, where she was admitted in a critical condition.

Furthermore, medical professionals assessed and treated two other individuals with minor injuries, who were conveyed in separate ambulances to the same hospital. The Civil Guard managed traffic in the vicinity and undertook the necessary procedures.
