Santa Cruz is set to host nine filming and audiovisual projects in the upcoming months, encompassing photography sessions, advertisements, series, feature films, and documentaries. This was revealed yesterday by the Development Society through the Santa Cruz Film Office, which has facilitated the scheduling of these recordings.
Among the productions currently in progress, there are four series, a photoshoot, a promotional video, a feature film, a scene for an international series, and two international series planned for 2025.

The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, stated yesterday that “an increasing number of production companies and enterprises in the audiovisual sector are focusing on our city and creating an economic impact due to the large teams involved in each project.”
Bermúdez emphasised “the efforts made by the council to assist those who choose to initiate a project in the capital of Tenerife, which is why the coordinated efforts of the areas such as Heritage, Mobility, Environmental Sustainability, Public Services, and the Citizen Assistance and Information Office work together to facilitate these filmings with the Santa Cruz Film Office.” In this regard, the councillor added that “the technical staff makes a significant effort to ensure that everything runs smoothly, therefore commitment and interdepartmental coordination have been essential,” he affirmed.

In addition, the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, highlighted that, “when we discuss film tourism, we are not solely referring to the ability of this content to showcase our municipality’s attractions; we also underscore the arrival of the filming crew itself in Santa Cruz, who settle in the city during the course of a project and leave a substantial economic impact in the capital.”

“Apart from the crews that are locally employed, which foster a circular economy, productions bring many individuals who contribute significantly to accommodation, transportation, dining establishments, and local commerce, in addition to utilising their free time for tourism,” she added.
Pérez further stressed that these initiatives have the potential to diversify the economy within the sector, encouraging the hiring of personnel and the involvement of local businesses. “These advantages are achievable due to the municipality’s positioning as a filming location, and also the guidance provided to those who need assistance with administrative processes, making Santa Cruz an ideal space for their recordings,” she remarked.

The councillor underscored the importance of monitoring such activities to ensure both care and respect for the environment. “We are aware in advance of what will take place, where, how, and when, through permits, ensuring adherence to sustainability criteria.”
