The Santa Cruz City Council has finalised the agreements for the project drafting services needed for the refurbishment of 140 residences on plots I-21 1 and I-21 2 in Añaza. Each of these sites consists of 70 properties, with the refurbishment financed through European funds as part of the Programmed Rehabilitation Residential Environments (ERRP) initiative, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The contract for the drafting of the project for the two plots has been awarded to the consortium UTE EVM-Vargas-Salcedo-Mesa-Globalseg, amounting to a total of 218,928 euros.
The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, stated yesterday that, “thanks to these projects backed by European funding, residents will have their homes renovated with a focus on energy efficiency, along with enhanced accessibility to their residences.” He also mentioned that, “once the projects are drafted, they will be presented to the presidents of the various communities for approval and to ensure that residents are informed, allowing them to suggest matters that can be evaluated from a technical perspective.”
Belén Mesa, the Councillor for Housing, remarked yesterday that “our commitment is to keep residents updated at all times and to inform them about the progression of the different phases.”
The councillor announced that, “for this reason, we have conducted meetings, which were also attended by the councillor for the Southwest district, Javier Rivero, who noted that with the signing of these contracts, we are making significant progress towards advancing the drafting of the refurbishment and renovation initiatives for the buildings on the two plots in Añaza.”
Furthermore, this councillor highlighted yesterday that, “during the various informational meetings with residents of these plots, the first of which took place in the public square of the cultural stage in Añaza, we outlined that the primary goal was to establish the communities of owners, which is a crucial step in accessing the funding.” He also clarified that, “by doing so, we can channel the Next Generation funds to the neighbourhoods and areas in the district that require comprehensive rehabilitation and improvement efforts, undoubtedly enhancing the quality of life for residents.”
