Canary Islands count this week 118 sprouts new with 533 cases of coronavirus. These new outbreaks of infections in the Archipelago are distributed by islands as follows: 55 in Gran Canaria, 40 in Tenerife, 13 in Fuerteventura, eight in Lanzarote, and two in La Palma. These new outbreaks represent an increase of twelve with respect to those notified last week.
By area in which they have occurred, 35 are social, 32 family, 22 work, 20 educational, four health, three in socially vulnerable groups, one sports and one social health.
This week, most of the outbreaks range between three and six cases, except for one that exceeds 10 people infected, social origin, with family branching, with 12 affected reported in Tenerife.
Of the three outbreaks recorded in socially vulnerable groups notified between people arriving in the Canary Islands in patera or cayucos two have been registered in Fuerteventura and one in Gran Canaria.
The family outbreaks, all notified between families of different addresses, oscillate between three and six associated cases, except for three in Gran Canaria with ten, nine and eight infected.

Group infections in schools

The four health outbreaks, all with family branches, one has been reported in the Bellevue Hospital (Tenerife), with five cases, including one patient and two workers, and three in the hospital. University Hospital of Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, with five, five and three associated cases, of which three are patients.
The sports outbreak, linked to handball practice, has been reported in Lanzarote, with associated cases in Gran Canaria, and three people affected.
The socio-sanitary outbreak has been registered in a center in Gran Canaria, with nine affected, eight residents and one worker.

Health continues to monitor 29 old outbreaks, among which, as one of the most numerous, the health with family branching registered in the San Roque Meloneras Hospital, which already has 53 affected, a mixed one linked to accommodation, with 43 cases, and one of work origin, with social and family ramification, between a group of firefighters from Tenerife with associated cases on La Palma, with 41 cases.
