SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 20 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tenerife Island Council is set to advance an agreement with the Fasnia City Council for the establishment of the municipality’s Farmers’ Market.

Specifically, this initiative is backed by all political factions within the island corporation. The Cabildo will allocate a total of 3,167,487.34 euros, dispersed over several annual payments, towards the market’s construction. In return, the Fasnia Town Council will take responsibility for the management and execution of the works and will agree to transfer ownership of various areas within the building to the island corporation.

According to Valentín González, the Councillor for the Primary Sector, “these areas will house a new office for the Network of Agricultural Extension Agencies, a facility for promoting local products, agricultural training and innovation, as well as an information office for the Cabildo, along with a basement floor.”

This market aligns with the objectives outlined in the Strategic Plan for Rural Development for the Southeast Region (Arico, Fasnia and Agache), which aims to develop strategies to foster the socioeconomic growth of the area and enhance the quality of life for its residents.

The corporation noted that this infrastructure will serve as a meeting place for local producers and consumers while stimulating the economic advancement of the Fasnia municipality.
