The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, via the Salud-La Salle district office, is set to host a festival this Saturday, September 21, from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. to mark the 30th anniversary of the Tras con Tras murga, featuring a tribute to the children’s group Pita-Pitos, which is also celebrating this milestone. This occasion will also showcase performances from the Chaladas, Bambones, and Diablos Locos murga, alongside the Dibujas Personalizados group from the La canción de la Risa contest, as well as the Los Joroperos comparsa.
José Manuel Bermúdez, the Mayor of Santa Cruz, notes that “this Saturday, all residents of Santa Cruz are invited to the La Salud market to enjoy the performances from these well-established groups with a rich history and great acclaim in our largest festivity, the Carnival.” He encourages “everyone to join in as it is a splendid opportunity for families to come together, with activities also planned for the younger ones.”
Zaida González, the councillor for the Salud-La Salle district, adds that “this Saturday, we will have the pleasure of enjoying performances from these groups that are renowned within our Carnival,” explaining that “the La Salud market will also feature music from the Primera Línea and Macaco orchestras.”
Throughout the day, there will be a canteen and picnic area, children’s activities between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and a stall offering merchandise for murga enthusiasts.
