SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 20 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Five vessels carrying nearly 500 migrants have reached the islands of El Hierro, La Gomera, and Lanzarote from Thursday evening to Friday morning, as reported by sources from Maritime Rescue and the Red Cross.

In El Hierro’s case, the Salvamar Adhara and the Guardamar Calíope successfully rescued a total of 327 migrants who were navigating in waters close to the island on Thursday night and subsequently disembarked them at the port of La Restinga.

Following the standard medical assistance provided by the Red Cross, Primary Care, and SUC personnel, the individuals were assessed to be in good overall health, and no transfers to the island’s hospital were necessary.

Also on Thursday night, the Salvamar Mizar rescued 56 individuals who were aboard a cayuco near La Gomera and transported them to San Sebastián port, with no records indicating they required hospital treatment on the island.

Furthermore, in the early hours of Friday, two additional boats arrived at Puerto Naos in Arrecife (Lanzarote), bringing a total of 113 migrants who appeared to be in good health.
