SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 18 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Today, Wednesday, a total of eleven vessels have made landfall on the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and El Hierro, carrying 631 migrants. Ten of these vessels were intercepted by the Maritime Rescue Service, while one reached the beach of La Garita in the municipality of Haría independently, having 67 migrants on board, as per the report from the Maritime Rescue Service and 1-1-2 Canarias.

Specifically, the Maritime Rescue Centre in Las Palmas coordinated aid for seven boats transporting 380 migrants, who were subsequently transferred to Arrecife by the rescue vessels Talía and Al Nair. Additionally, the Izar rescue boat brought in another vessel to Gran Tarajal, carrying 52 individuals.

Meanwhile, the Maritime Rescue Centre in Tenerife managed the assistance of two cayucos in El Hierro, which were carrying 132 people, including 15 minors. This operation involved the sea rescue boats Adhara and Calíope. All individuals were provided with assistance on land by medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and Primary Care, alongside volunteers from the Red Cross.

All those rescued received care on land from the medical team comprising personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) and Primary Care, in addition to support from Red Cross volunteers and security forces.
