On Sunday morning, a cayuco carrying 87 individuals, which included two women and two minors, arrived at the port of La Restinga in El Hierro, escorted by a Maritime Rescue vessel.
According to sources from the public authority, the Civil Guard informed EFE that at 2:50 a.m., the Integrated External Surveillance Service (SIVE) detected a cayuco measuring approximately 12 metres in length, located one mile south of La Restinga.
The Salvamar Menkalinan proceeded to that location and escorted the vessel to the port.
The emergency response team provided assistance to the migrants at the dock, and no hospital transfers were necessary.
