SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The seismic activity that commenced in the vicinity of the Enmedio volcano, situated in the waters between Tenerife and Gran Canaria, is still ongoing, with over thirty tremors detected in the past two days, as per recordings from the National Geographic Institute (IGN).
The most significant tremor of this sequence was detected shortly after midnight on Thursday, registering a magnitude of 3.6 and occurring at a depth of 33 kilometres.
According to the IGN, this represents one of the most dynamic volcanic zones within the archipelago, and the progression of this phenomenon is under continuous observation.
Most earthquakes continue to register at depths exceeding 25 kilometres; however, the most considerable quakes on Thursday morning were located approximately 8 kilometres to the northwest.
