The stillness enveloping the vastness of the Anaga mountains is interrupted by the sound of spears striking against the rocks, as a sizable group of individuals of various ages progresses “hopping” along the steep precipices of the ravines. This pastoral custom stems from the necessity to master the challenging terrain and is more vibrant today than ever due to the dedication of the jurrias.
