The Realejos will host the VII Great Wine Festival of Tenerife this Saturday, September 7, an occasion that highlights wine and culinary delights while endorsing sustainable and responsible practices.
This event will be held at El Socorro beach starting from 6:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. Attendees can look forward to sampling 92 different wines sourced from 29 wineries representing the six designations of origin within Tenerife (La Orotava Valley, Tacoronte-Acentejo, Ycoden-Daute-Isora, Güímar, Abona, and the Canary Islands) over the weekend.
Guests will have the opportunity to savour a variety of wines including bottled dry whites, barrel-aged wines, fruity selections, rosés, fruity rosés, carbonic maceration reds, young reds, barrel-aged reds, aged reds, and sweet wines. Notably, the La Gomera Designation of Origin will be featured as a guest island.
Culinary Delights and Entertainment
The pricing for wines will range from €1.50 to €3, while food items will be priced between €2 and €5.
Entertainment will include disco music and live performances by DJ Vamos y la liamos (Mingo Show), La Calle de Al’Lao, Arístides Moreno, and Miss Músic Band.
Complimentary Transport and Recycling Incentives
Access to the beach will be restricted for private vehicles. Consequently, the Los Realejos Town Hall has arranged free shuttle buses to the beach from 5:30 p.m., with collection points near the old Municipal Market and San Agustín Park. Transfers to minibuses will occur near Hacienda de las Cuatro Ventanas, along the Carretera de El Socorro.
The local authority also encourages the sharing of taxis.
As this is a glass-free event, tritan tasting glasses—made of a sustainable material—will be available for purchase at €2, and attendees are encouraged to reuse glasses from previous editions or similar events.
Recyclable paper bags will also be offered for disposing of organic waste, and those who return them to the designated collection point will receive rewards.
This event is orchestrated in collaboration with the Tenerife Island Council and the six regulatory councils of the island.
