The local authorities of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote have requested the Government of the Canary Islands, along with that of Tenerife, to implement a temporary halt on the registration of holiday homes. This comes in response to the surge in registration applications they have received following the administration’s announcement earlier this year regarding plans to formulate legislation to govern this industry.
