The disgraceful behaviour of discarding cigarette butts into the street, particularly into drains, has repercussions. This Friday, Teidagua and the La Laguna Water Supply Department issued a warning, revealing that they retrieve over five million cigarette butts from the municipal sewer system annually, which collectively weigh two tonnes—equivalent to that of an adult rhinoceros.
