SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 30 Aug (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Department of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Canary Islands Government, through the Sub-department of Infrastructure, has allocated a direct grant amounting to one million euros to the City Council of Santa Úrsula to support the construction of the TF-5 dissuasive car park.
Specifically, this project encompasses a 6,900 square metre area where over 200 new parking spaces will be established. This development aims to reduce traffic in the town centre and encourage pedestrian activity, given its proximity to the motorway, shopping zones, and various public amenities.
The initiative enhances sustainable mobility by providing users of the TF-5 the chance to park their cars in a dedicated area and then transfer to public transport services, as stated by the Ministry in a release.
This undertaking simplifies travel from Santa Úrsula to any location on the island while also minimising the carbon footprint and aiding in the alleviation of traffic congestion caused by the abundance of private vehicles on this route.
