SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Rosa Dávila, the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, conveyed her belief this Wednesday that the ‘TLP’, returning after four years from 3 to 8 September, will position the island as the national “epicentre” for new technologies.

“TLP Tenerife is making its comeback with enthusiasm, renewing its programme, introducing new activities, and promoting training,” she stated during a press briefing regarding the agreements made by the Governing Council, indicating that over 60,000 attendees are predicted across an area of approximately 24,000 square metres.

She commended the government team’s “dedication” to reinstating this event to “regain its rightful place not only within the cultural and technological agenda of the Canary Islands but also as one of the principal events on the national calendar”, expressing confidence that the change of dates, prior to the commencement of the school year, “will be effective”.

She further emphasised that “over 120 young individuals have been employed, primarily aged between 18 and 30”, with training opportunities pertaining to new technologies.

In the LAN Party Zone, where all tickets for 1,500 participants are already sold out, attendees will socialise round the clock throughout the event, sharing their enthusiasm for video games, esports, and technological culture.

The organisation has enhanced their experience by increasing the space at the tables so users can set up their computer systems and relish the same comforts they enjoy at home.

Concerning the Summer-Con area, it will offer activities for all demographics, boasting the largest range in TLP Tenerife’s history. Visitors can expect, among other attractions, educational workshops concentrating on new technologies, appearances by leading board game publishers nationally, crafts, and access to a console and video game zone, complete with competitions across various categories.

Dávila also clarified that there will be a TLP K-Pop Championship, a contest aimed at showcasing the finest selection of groups and soloists from the archipelago, alongside a stage that will also embrace Cosplay for those willing to portray characters from the realms of cinema, anime, or video games.

In the realm of esports, more than 30 competitions will be featured spanning four distinct tournament types, across a diverse array of titles, from ‘League of Legends’ and ‘Tekken 8’ to ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Fortnite’.

In the commercial sector, the organisation has arranged for over 60 artists to have stands to display and sell their creations to attendees.
